
Teen Ariella Axler Takes a Swing and scores: Love & fitness for city kids.
Mazel Tov to Ariella Axler, daughter of Joel Axler and Louise Short. Take A Swing, Inc., a non-profit organization she founded, won a Ashoka Youth Venture grant for great sports ventures initiated by America's youth to help others. Take A Swing is also featured on the Ashoka's Youth Ventures website (a program of Nike) as an example of great initiatives.

Take A Swing will recieve $1000 from Nike, which will be used for equipment and programming for the organization, which teaches tennis and life skills to inner city kids in partnership with metro area youth programs. Last summer, after incorporating as a 501(c)3 non profit organization, Take A Swing ran a three-week clinic for kids from the Latin-American Association of Atlanta.
Ari is in the process of launching a website for Take A Swing, and we'll post a link when it is ready. Ari also won the Amit Youth Leadership award for her service to teens and young adults with disabilities.
