
Nosh ‘n Drosh - Siddur 101
Modays 6:30 - 7:45 p.m.
Following daily minyan (6:15 p.m.) plan to stay for a nosh and relaxed discussion with Rabbi Zimmerman. An engaging opportunity to learn more about the service as we explore the Shabbat liturgy, including the history and origin of the prayers and their significance to the service.
Maimonides - Mishnah Torah
Mondays 8:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Our continuing text study program focuses on Maimonides’ (Rambam) Mishnah Torah. Maimonides is generally though to be the greatest Jewish thinker, Talmudist, and codifier of the Middle Ages. His teachings incorporated philosophy and science with Torah. Join us as we explore how his writings relate to our world today.

Thursdays 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Since Simchat Torah 1999, members of Beth Shalom have been studying together as part of the United Synagogue Perek Yomi and Mishnah Yomit programs. Classes meet for a discussion of text each week. Feel free to bring your Kosher lunch. New participants are always welcome.

Torah Trope: Learn how to read cantillation marks and chant Torah. The only prerequisite is a basic ability to read Hebrew and a willingness to learn!
Creative Judaica: Be creative! Make your own artistic designs! Here’s a class that gives students a chance to express themselves and have a great time doing it. No experience required.
Beginning Hebrew: Learn the Alef-bet, vowels, and all the basics to read Hebrew from the siddur.
Prayer Basics: Do you want to know more about the service . . . when to sit, stand or sway back and forth? This course is designed to help you follow the service, and better understand the meaning of prayers. Explore Shabbat liturgy, including history and origin of prayers.
Hebrew Ulpan: Learn to speak modern Hebrew in our weekly conversational Hebrew classes. Classes will focus on everyday words and phrases. Knowledge of Alef Bet and Hebrew vowels required.
